Erik Alsgaard is an ordained Elder in The United Methodist Church, officially retired, but serving in a part-time capacity at CUMC.

He's married to his wife, Sheila, and together with their dog, Gi (a Welsh Corgi), they live near Arnold, Maryland.

​

Erik comes to CUMC with more than 41 years of ministry experience, including several decades in servant communication ministry with the Baltimore-Washington Conference, the Florida Conference, the Michigan Area, and the General Board of Church and Society.

​

A native of Midland, Michigan, Erik is an avid sports fan of all things Detroit (Go Lions! Go Tigers!), University of Michigan football, Manchester United football (soccer), and has been to too many Orioles games to count.

He and Sheila share a passion for all things Italy -- the food, the places, the culture -- and hope to retire there in the near future.
